Kidsignments New Helper Registration Spring 2008 ---------------------------------------------------------------- Thank you for your interest in helping at Kidsignments! Volunteering at this event is hard work but the benefits of helping are very rewarding! ----------------------------------------------------------------
Helpers get to shop before the seller's preview sale since normally, all helpers have to work the preview sale (and this is a marathon day). First time helpers normally get excused from working the preview sale. All helpers however must work one of the three available cleanup shifts. Note that these shifts can be very, very long depending on how much inventory is left : )
Besides being able to shop the special helper's preview sale, there are many other great benefits offered to our wonderful volunteers.
All helpers get to shop a 1/2 price preview event.
Helpers may also purchase items during their cleanup shift with a further reduction of the consignment fee (price less 30%). YES - All helpers can sell! YES - my husband is a chef and does prepare complimentary food for us during the sale shifts! YES - I provide at my expense -snacks and drinks for helpers! YES - we have the annual "After Easter" potluck picnic and egghunt for helper's family! YES - it is a lot of work, but worth it! NO - sorry, no children are permitted during volunteer shifts. Long time helpers really look forward to seeing the other helpers twice a year. Some great friendships have been made at this event!

All new helpers will need to attend a mandatory helper meeting. It is very important for all helpers to hear the same information at the same time. Normally, this meeting is on the helper drop off day, but since this is Valentine's Day, I am moving it to the following day.
The helper meeting is on: Friday, Feb 15th 6 pm - 8pm

Number of Shifts Would like to help this sale 3 4 New helpers are requested to help 3-4 shifts.
Number of Shifts Remaining from Last Sale* 0 - I did not help last event 1 2 3
Sale Shifts Desired (Check all the ones you would like from the drop down listed) All helpers are required to help at ONE cleanup shift. New helpers are asked to sign up for the last cleanup time.
Please select more than the number of shifts that you are requesting to enable us more flexibility in meeting your requests. Please select at least 3 shifts total.
CLEANUP SHIFTS - Please select 1 of the four shifts below (new helpers are asked to work the last shift that is premarked for you) Working one of these 4 is required. Note that these shifts end when all the work for that phase of sorting is complete. If you leave before the end, it is likely that you will not be asked back to help again since this places your share of the work on everyone else. Since cleanup and preview are essential for everyone to help to make sure it is fair for all, if you do not help at one of these shifts, then you need to select two shifts (after sale shifts do not count) to substitute for each of these (if you do not do both cleanup and preview, this would mean you would need to select 4 shifts to substitute, but they count as 2). Anyone who cannot work cleanup will not be able to have their schedules confirmed until a few days before the sale. This is because this shift is critical and we will be filling shifts with those who are able to help out at cleanup first.
(One of these 3 is Required)
Sale, Drop Off and Pickup Shifts Note that preview is not required for first time helpers.
Not working Preview
*Returning helpers only
I am interested in helping additional shifts if needed.
Enter any additional comments in the space provided below but please, please, please do not hit your carriage return/enter key or this will come across really strange on my side. When you get to the end of the line just keep typing, don't hit return.
Do you have any consignment sale experience No Yes

Once your confirmation information is provided, we (and your fellow hellpers) count on you to fulfill your commitment. A "no show" creates a hardship on everyone participating in this event and we really count on you to keep your schedule. Please make sure to have a backup plan in case something happens such as daycare arrangements, someone to fill in if you are sick (they must be adults and not your children please unless your children are adults : ) or other situations that could occur. We greatly appreciate you interest in helping at Kidsignments! Thank you so much for filling out all the information so if you are selected, you do not have to return to complete this information for this event! Gwinnett County Parents - check your school calendar! Half days on 2/13 and 2/14 and NO SCHOOL (Snow Day) on 2/18)...Hmmm....nice of them to give teachers off to shop the helper and preview sale that day!
